Sinfonietta VivazzA

Symphonic Sounds woven into a chamber music experience!

Larger than a standard chamber group, yet too intimate to be mistaken for a full orchestra: the Sinfonietta VivazzA combines chamber music transparency, symphonic sound density and innovative programs. Under the motto “Music you can touch”, it combines classical music by well-known and unknown, often underestimated composers and plays concerts in various instrumentations. In particular, it devotes itself to the rarely played nonet formation and brings the compositions of B. Foerster, Rudolf Karel and Louis Spohr to life.

Since its foundation in Cologne in 2011, VivazzA has performed numerous concerts in renowned venues, including the Tonhalle Düsseldorf, the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich, the Chamber Music Hall of the Beethoven House in Bonn and the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe Hamburg.

This diverse ensemble has also thrilled audiences in internationally renowned venues such as the Chamber Music Hall of the Berlin Philharmonie, the Resonanzraum Hamburg and the Teatro Nuevo Alcalá in Madrid. Radio features, including Deutschlandfunk, document the ensemble’s activities.

Sinfonietta VivazzA has received several awards, including at the Medici International Music Competition and the BTHVN Vienna Competition. In workshops, children’s concerts and educational projects, the ensemble is committed to the lively transfer of musical knowledge and promotes artistic and social exchange.

The ensemble brings together passionate and experienced musicians from 11 nations. They have studied at leading music academies worldwide and have performed as soloists and in renowned orchestras such as the Munich Radio Orchestra, the Musikfabrik, the Ensemble Modern, the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, the Gateways Music Festival (New York, USA) and the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra (USA).

In 2017, the musicians of the VivazzA Ensemble founded the non-profit association VivazzA e.V. together with friends and have been developing diverse and successful projects under this umbrella ever since.
